Technology with its grandiose role in the Fashion industry suggests a future that looks both promising and disconcerting too. In addition, concerns with what kind of inferences it has on the artisanal qualities of fashion processes and production are also put into limelight. By placing the relationship between Fashion and Technology in a theoretical framework, it leads to a beneficial research on how craftsmanship plays a role within this framework. This research paper reflects on the additional value technology brings to the crafts, and whether it can sustain it. Furthermore, I investigate the cultural implications of both technology and craftsmanship in the fashion industry in which I tackle the question: Can technology and the crafts merge into a successful marriage to create new (urgent) solutions in the Fashion Industry?
